As part of our on-going work for URS/Scott Wilson and Mace on the design for the TfL Cable Car for London, we were asked to input to the design of the control room. A particular need was to demonstrate that the operator would be able to clearly see the area where passengers would board and disemark the gondolas. This is an important part of the safety of the system as the operator can stop the gondolas as they move round the station in the event of an incident.
We used SAMMIE CAD to demonstrate the view from the operator's viewpoint in the control room. SAMMIE allowed us to model the control room architecture and equipment layout accurately and quickly. The visual output of SAMMIE helped us to demonstrate to the client that the design was acceptable
